Blue whales

Elephant

Elephants are the largest land animals. They have very large brains. Elephants have four teeth and two tusks. Elephants are plant eater. Elephants can live as long as eighty years. Elephants are in danger because men hunt and kill elephants for their tusks. Elephants sleep standing up. An elephant can hold seven liters of water in trunk.

Giant pandas

The panda has a white face with black patches around each eye. There is broad black band across its shoulders. They are found only in the bamboo forests of the mountains of central China. They do not make a permanent den. They take shelter in cavities in trees or rocks.
There are only about 700 to 1000 pandas alive in the world today. They are facing many dangers. Their diet is bamboo mainly. This tree dies back after flowering. There remains nothing to eat. Then pandas have to migrate to other bamboo patches. Their cubs are very small and may be attacked by leopards. Illegal human hunting is another danger.

These horns are used to protect the head in fights. Giraffes are hunted for their meat, coat and tails. Healthy giraffes can live 25 years in the wild. A giraffe can clean its ears with its 21 inch tongue.
